Too much Sangria 6c3c3

I'm Italian and last September during my German exam I was talking with the teacher about my holidays, so I told her that I had met a girl from Switzerland in Spain, and I said: Ich habe eine Schweizerin kennengelernt, wir haben uns in Spanien besoffen. Then the teacher looked at me wide-eyed,and asked: Was?! Besoffen? ... I had mispronounced the past participle of the verb treffen, so the teacher understood that we had got drunk together in Spain! Of course I meant getroffen.
