With non-English teams guaranteed to play at least two Premier League sides in the Champions League next season, there's a decent chance Trent will have a reunion with Liverpool sooner than he expected.

His Reds contract was due to expire on 30 June.

I’ve popped into the Uefa Champions Festival in Munich's Olympic Park.

Here's a bit of advice - if you’re going to a huge park in a foreign country, maybe research which entrance you want in advance rather than just putting it in maps and thinking ‘ah it’ll be grand’.

We speak a lot about Inter's defence. But they fell apart and conceded a ton against Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

What is underrated is there ability to score when they need to.

Their attack is underrated, but what both these sides have is balance.

Spanish football journalist on the Euro Leagues podcast

For Inter, it feels like the end of an era. For PSG, the start of one.

An experienced group that is not effected by bad twists in Inter. A young group that is maturing quickly, but as we saw at Villa Park can lose control in PSG.

Two of my favourite coaches too. Simone Inzaghi, capable of maximising the potential of any side. Luis Enrique, who plays his way, or no way.

I will celebrate whichever team wins.

  17. Inzaghi ready to take next step?published at 10:16 British Summer Time 30 May

PSG v Inter Milan (Sat, 20:00 BST)

Inter Milan boss Simone Inzaghi has transformed his side since taking over in 2021.

He won back-to-back Coppa Italia titles in his first two seasons, before winning Serie A in 2023–24.

Another Champions League final means Inzaghi is only the second Inter Milan coach to reach two European Cup finals.

Helenio Herrera reached three finals in 1964, 1965 and 1967.

Inzaghi's side are known for attacking in waves, or they can sit deep, take over possession and transition swiftly up the field.

A Champions League title would certainly put Inzaghi - regarded as a great man manager - on the map as one of the best in the game.

  18. Luis Enrique's revolutionpublished at 10:07 British Summer Time 30 May

PSG v Inter Milan (Sat, 20:00 BST)

It's fair to say that Paris Saint-Germain's image has shifted significantly' under Luis Enrique.

Since the Spaniard's appointment in 2023, what was once a collection of individual superstars has been transformed into a dynamic and hard-working team of youngsters hungry for success.

After only just scraping into the Champions League knock-outs, PSG's players appear to have fully grasped what the manager wants: relentlessly attacking football with intense counter-pressing. Effort and tracking back is non-negotiable.

After two domestic trebles in two seasons, Luis Enrique will be desperate to win the Champions League for the first time since he won it with Barcelona ten years ago.

What a great game for the neutral - whoever wins, you'll be able to say they deserved it. PSG have, in of pure football and technical ability, been the best team in the tournament (sorry, Arteta - except for Arsenal, of course...) and Inter have beaten Barcelona and Bayern, supposed favourites for the tournament. In other words, both PSG and Inter are deserved champions. It will be a great contrast of styles, too: PSG's possession, speed and skill against Inter's solid defence and dangerous counter-attack. I. Cannot. Wait.
