  16. 'Glad there will be a different winner'published at 12:56 British Summer Time 30 May

PSG v Inter Milan (Sat, 20:00 BST)

    Julien Laurens
European football expert on The Football News Show

A final is always great no matter who's in it. But I think Inter haven't won since 2010, and PSG have never won it. I'm glad that there will be a different winner this year.

  17. Dembele fills Mbappe voidpublished at 12:52 British Summer Time 30 May

PSG v Inter Milan (Sat, 20:00 BST)

Kylian Mbappe scored 44 goals in his final season at Paris St-Germain, departing for Real Madrid last summer.

It was a big goal void that needing filling.

Ousmane Dembele has risen to the challenge to score 33 goals in all competitions this season, with eight coming in the Champions League.

The forward - who was once the second-most expensive player in history when he signed for Barcelona from Borussia Dortmund in 2017 in a deal worth £135.5m - was described by Barca president Joan Laporta as "better than Kylian Mbappe" in 2021.

Firing PSG to a first Champions League and potentially winning a Ballon d'Or may show there was something in that comment by Laporta.

The final is between an experienced team v a hungry team. Experience without hunger is nothing and hunger without experience is dangerous. The two coaches are experienced and the hunger for PSG is big. Inter are solid but my heart is for PSG. PSG 2 INTER 1.

  20. How things turned sour with Mbappepublished at 12:43 British Summer Time 30 May

PSG v Inter Milan (Sat, 20:00 BST)

Had things turned out differently, then Kylian Mbappe would be 90 minutes away from winning the Champions League for the first time.

Mbappe was widely expected to leave PSG in 2022, but instead he ended up g a new two-year contract, plus an optional additional year.

But that additional year never came to . Mbappe refused to committ as his relationship with club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi deteriorated.

Last summer he left PSG on a free transfer, finally ing Real Madrid after years of speculation.

The Frenchman scored seven goals in 14 Champions League this season, but his side were soundly beaten by Arsenal in the quarter-finals.
