Can you sum up the Make it Digital Quiz?

There are going to be over a million jobs created in the technology sector over the next decade and at the moment not enough people to fill them. There’s loads of stuff online to help you get the right skills but it can be a bit daunting. So we created the Make it Digital Quiz to help 13-16 year olds find stuff online that’s suited to their personality!

What was the creative process of making the quiz?

Helping people to get more skilled with tech and digital is important to us. So although we kept the quiz fun and easy to use, the questions are actually inspired by a behaviour assessment tool called DISC. This tool is based on the work by a US psychologist called Moulton Marston. We tried out loads of different questions, designs and types until we settled on what we have now.

How was the quiz built?

It’s thanks to the Taster team and their quiz engine that we were able to build this quiz! We started off by writing the questions and outcomes based on the DISC tool and then we created the pictures and design. We did lots of versions and tested them on people before putting all the information and designs into the quiz engine. We then had to do some behind the scenes stuff but now it's live for people to find out their digital profile!

What do you hope to achieve through this quiz?

Our aim is to inspire people to unlock their potential and shape their talents. We hope that by doing the quiz people can find some genuinely useful online courses and resources to help them expand their skills. We know that it can be a bit daunting when it comes to thinking of your future so we wanted to make starting the journey a bit easier. We also brought on board some great young people, who've done some really cool stuff in the world of tech and digital, as mentors. They've told us how they got where they are now and give a bit of advice about how others could follow in their footsteps. Everyone has talents, it’s just a case of finding out what they are!
