Alan O'Connor, Ulster captain, speaking on BBC Two NI: "I'm disappointed with the loss. We came out with good attitude and brought the emotion to the game. The fans were class and they brought great energy. They turned up for us. I want to thank them.
"We took our chances really well and put them under pressure. We didn't get a foothold in the second half. They capitalised on their territory and on the front foot they have big runners and we struggled with that. Fair play to them.
On final home appearance: "It's a privilege and honour I've loved it all and never took it for granted. I tried to wear it the right way It's a great group of people here, they love their rugby. I met my wife and had my son up here, I'll probably be here to say. When I do finish up I'll be a fan, 100%.

Departing Ulster scrum-half John Cooney, speaking on BBC Two NI: "I'm very grateful for what I've had. I never could have believed it would have went as well as it has. I'm really lucky. It was tough in that I love the fans and love the place, we plan to live here forever when I'm done. It's one of those, in whatever job you work in, I've lost a lot of my fiends in the workplace and it came to a natural end. I always wanted to go out on a high and play at this level, and not slowly dissolve in the abyss. I felt it was the right time to move on."

Jacob Stockdale, player of the match, speaking to BBC Sport: "That feels like one that got away. The first half hour we we cooking but we let them back into the game with their power game. Credit to them, they took their chances. It's disappointing and for us that's probably representative of the season we've had. A lot of promising stuff but we haven't been able to get across the line. We've a couple of games left to squeeze into the play-offs and I think we still can."

It's hugely disappointing after the excitement at half-time. There was nothing left on the pitch by Ulster. The Sharks are a star-studded side who don't need a second invitation.

It was a hugely deflating feeling in the second half. After 60 minutes it felt like the game got away from them. The Sharks were ruthless in the second half.
