West Ham manager Graham Potter to BBC Match of the Day after the 2-0 victory against Manchester United: "Sometimes we talk about performances a lot as coaches, but results are nice. We've been in the middle of a really tough run. Today was great in that regard. The players executed things really well. Good intelligence. They showed all the things they needed to to win a football match. A great day for everyone involved with West Ham.
"You can talk tactics but it's about desire and application and sticking together. The player's attitude and commitment to what we're trying to do has been first class.
"We have the capacity. We just have to keep working."

Jarrod Bowen has scored (3 goals) or assisted (2 assists) a goal in four consecutive Premier League appearances for West Ham, his t-longest run in the competition, also doing four in a row from March to April 2021.
This was the Hammers' first league win at Old Trafford since 2006-07, ending a run of 16 league trips there without a win (D3 L13).

Sutton's predictions: Man Utd v West Hampublished at 10:40 11 May

I am not sure who would want to watch this game? Manchester United's second string versus such a poor West Ham side with nothing to play for is not exactly essential viewing, is it?
The Europa League final is going to be Ruben Amorim's focus for the rest of the season and Brentford made the most of that when they beat a weakened United team last weekend.
I am not sure the Hammers are as dynamic as Brentford in attack, however, so they may not be capable of doing the same thing.
A lot depends on the United team selection, though. It is hard enough making predictions anyway, but its even harder when there could be mass changes, and you don't know whether it is the United first team who are going to play, or be more like the youth team.
That makes this more of a guess, when I am used to applying science to my predictions, but I wish I had gone for West Ham to draw with Tottenham last week, and I am not going to make the same mistake this time.
Did Cresswell and Fabianski deserve new deals?published at 16:43 9 May

We asked for your views on the impending departures of Aaron Cresswell, Lukasz Fabianski, Vladimir Coufal and Danny Ings
Here are some of your comments:
Alison: Real professionals all of them. Their influence in the dressing room will be missed - would have possibly offered Cresswell and Fabianski another year. Go with my thanks for their contributions over the years.
Steve: Sorry to see them go but it's time for change. Fabianski and Coufal have been consistently great and Cresswell was excellent until a couple of years ago. But unfortunately Ings never quite got going, he's talented, scored some important goals but didn't make a big impression.
Dave: Only gutted about Coufal leaving really. I think he's still got a lot to offer as a squad player and back-up to Wan-Bissaka. Cresswell and Fabianski have been great club servants but are getting on now. Danny Ings never had the best of times here.
Ken: A mixed bag regarding the four departures. They are all good enough to be playing more first-team football than they currently are and if they want to leave for this reason then I'm happy for them. Ings leaving is the biggest plus and perhaps Cresswell the saddest - for his longevity, adaptability and presence off the pitch. I thought he may get another year to mentor Scarles and slot in at LB or left CB in a back three, but he leaves as a near-legend for the club.
Lee: It's always hard to see long-serving players move on. Coufal. Cresswell and Fabianski have all played a big part at West Ham but Ings never really fitted in and certainly didn't get the number of goals we hoped for.. but good luck to them all.

West Ham boss Graham Potter has been speaking to the media before Sunday's Premier League game at Manchester United (kick-off 14:15 BST).
Here are the key lines from his news conference:
Edson Alvarez returns to the squad after a back injury, but there are no other team changes.
He gave his response to the departures of long-serving players Aaron Cresswell, Lukasz Fabianski, Vladimir Coufal and Danny Ings: "They have had amazing contributions and were part of a really successful period at the club. They are really good people with fantastic careers."
He added that they have "conducted themselves professionally on and off the pitch and we wish them all the best".
On Jarrod Bowen's influence as a leader: "He is honest and takes responsibility. He works hard every day and leads quietly but always speaks with intelligence and authority."
Lucas Paqueta is going through a "tough" time but is someone who cares a lot and everyone is ing him.
Potter also said that Michael Antonio's injury situation is "unique" in of his recovery but the club are ing him through it.
He said the current period will give West Ham a "foundation" to go forward and change the dynamic, something he sees as "really exciting".
He dismissed the suggestion that West Ham's good recent record against Manchester United will influence this game: "You don't get anything for what you have done in the past."
Asked on how to approach the game, his response was that it is "always complicated at Old Trafford" but that West Ham need to focus on themselves because "that's all we can control".
Potter said his opposite number Ruben Amorim faces a "tough job" but that the Europa League final is a great opportunity for him to "end the season on a high".

West Ham have confirmed Aaron Cresswell, Lukasz Fabianski, Danny Ings and Vladimir Coufal will leave the club when their contracts expire this summer.
All four players were a part of the Hammers' Conference League winning squad in 2023 and have made more than 800 appearances for the club between them.
"Aaron, Lukasz, Vladimir and Danny have been a pleasure to work with in my time here so far," said manager Graham Potter.
"They are brilliant professionals on and off the pitch, with fantastic experience in the Premier League, and clearly loved and ired by their team-mates and everyone here at the club."
How do you feel about these departures?
Should any of the four have stayed at London Stadium or was it the right time for all of them to leave?

Only Leicester City (seven), Ipswich Town (six) and Southampton (five) have picked up fewer Premier League points than West Ham since Graham Potter's first game in charge in January (14).
The Hammers are winless in their past eight league games, last enduring a longer run in the competition in May 2011 (nine games).
Having lost his first five Premier League meetings with Manchester United, West Ham boss Graham Potter is since unbeaten in three against the Red Devils. He won 2-1 on his previous visit to Old Trafford with Brighton in August 2022.

Derbies are supposed to be unpredictable and fiery affairs, filled with ion, physicality and drama.
But Sunday's game was never going to provide any of that.
Here we had two teams limping towards the end of calamitous league campaigns with nothing left to play for domestically. Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur had the small matter of a Europa League semi-final second leg to plan for. It was never going to be a classic.
The build-up was unlike any before to a meeting between these two teams. In fact, there was barely any build-up whatsoever. That set the tone for what was largely a drab affair.
The atmosphere in the first half was mildly befitting of the occasion though. West Ham fans were in full voice, at least for the first 15 minutes before Tottenham took the lead against the run of play. "1-0 in your cup final," sang the Spurs fans. Well, at least we tend to win our cup finals.
Jarrod Bowen's equaliser was well deserved, well taken and from there, the game had 1-1 written all over it. A few verses of "stand up if you hate Tottenham" followed, with Tottenham fans also standing up, presumably in agreement with the home after their equally torrid Premier League season.
It was a rare show of solidarity between two sets of fans who do not normally agree about anything.
But then that was that. The game fizzled out. West Ham should have punished a heavily rotated and under-strength Spurs, but did not. Tottenham should have punished a West Ham team which has struggled so desperately to see games out in recent weeks, but didn't.
James Ward-Prowse almost won it at the death but his free-kick hit the post, which provided probably the most exciting thing to happen in the second half. Beyond that, there was literally nothing to write home about.
As London derbies go, this one was entirely forgettable. Given the circumstances, it lived up to everyone's expectations.
We are now one week closer to the end of the season, when we can all try to forget this season ever happened. It cannot come quickly enough for me.
'Talk is cheap' – Bowen on finishing the season with 'pride'published at 14:22 5 May

Jarrod Bowen has demanded West Ham show some pride over the final three games of a miserable season.
The Hammers are in 17th place in the Premier League after Sunday's dour derby draw with Tottenham made it eight matches without a win but Bowen wants his team-mates to dig out some positive results to finish the season.
"It's easy to say the season's done, we can't get relegated and there's nothing to play for," said skipper Bowen. "But this is a club that prides itself on hard work and ion.
"There are three games left to go, and we're all determined to go and win. Ultimately, this season we haven't done enough as a group of players to be high enough in the table.
"It's self-pride to go out there every single week because the worst thing is to come out of a game and think you could've done more.
"But I think talk is cheap, and we have to show it. We know we should be in a better position and have done better, but we're here now, and it's down to us to win those remaining three games. That's got to be the mindset to play for this club."
'Let's not be too quick to judge' - pundits on Potterpublished at 11:22 5 May

Former England captain Wayne Rooney is still backing Graham Potter, but says the West Ham boss "needs the summer to come quickly" after a disappointing set of results since taking charge at London Stadium.
Since being appointed on 9 January, Potter has managed 15 Premier League games - winning three, drawing five and losing seven.
Speaking on Match of the Day 2, Rooney said: "If you look at his record since he ed West Ham, it isn't great - but we do talk about managers needing to get their own players and their own principles into a football club.
"It has been a difficult start for him, but I think he has got a lot of ability to make West Ham look a better team."
Former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy added: "When he ed the club, they were lacking confidence. Michail Antonio had the car crash, Niclas Fullkrug had only just come back from injury, and they were playing without a centre-forward.
"So there are lots of little details to take into . They have had their moments this season, so let's not be too quick to judge."
Mike: Very poor performance again by West Ham. Quite apart from the dreadful defensive mistake by Max Kilman to give Tottenham the lead, our midfield were woeful all game, particularly Lucas Paqueta, preferring to defend rather than attack. Just pleased that there are three weaker teams in the league to prevent our relegation.
Myles: So many hours wasted watching the Hammers this year, and for what? Only Jarrod Bowen and Aaron Wan-Bissaka are in any kind of form. I don't blame Potter, yet, but his selection is questionable. Paqueta has been a liability in midfield for two years and undeserving of a start. There is nothing to lose anymore. Play the kids and maybe we unearth a gem.
Hayley: Disappointed we didn't win as I was really hoping to finish above Spurs this season. It's good to see Potter making lots of substitutions. He did try to go for it. Onward and upward. Really need to win our remaining games if any hope of finishing above Spurs.
Michael: Think probably like me most West Ham fans can't wait for the season to finish. Need to offload a lot of this squad and let Potter bring players in to suit his playing style - whatever that might be
Brendan: It kind of sums up the season. An insipid draw against Spurs. There you go. We all desperately need a summer break.
James: Very much an end-of-season feel to it. Spurs obviously have an eye on the Europa League. As for West Ham, it feels as if the end of the season can't come soon enough and a major reshuffle is needed. It is not really on Potter at this point. He needs a transfer window to implement what he wants.
Stuart: Not good enough. If things carry on the way they are, we will be in the same position next season and can only see it getting tougher. Hopefully some decent changes can be made during the summer and we start playing the Hammers way!
Barry: If there was ever a day for Spurs and West Ham fans to unite, it was today. Every player should have been booed off for that utter dross.
West Ham 'not an easy club to manage'published at 09:11 5 May

Former Premier League midfielder Nigel Reo-Coker predicts a huge summer ahead for West Ham after a flat draw against London rivals Tottenham on Sunday.
He told BBC Radio 5 Live's Football Daily podcast the Hammers face an uncertain future.
"It just shows how much of a big job Graham Potter has [at West Ham]," Reo-Coker said. "He is definitely going to get next season [but] it's not so easy to rebuild and recruit in the modern game.
"How are they going to shift all of the players that Potter doesn't want in order to get his identity at the football club and to kick on for next season? West Ham is not an easy club to manage. If the results don't start coming, people in the media start coming after you."
Former Premier League striker Clinton Morrison added: "For the money West Ham spent last summer, what player can you say has been a success? They brought in Julen Lopetegui because they thought David Moyes wasn't good enough and they wanted to play attractive football. They haven't got the players at the moment. The performance against Tottenham was lacklustre.
"The recruitment has been nowhere near good enough and it feels like Potter is going to have to start again. When they brought all these players in, I thought that West Ham could challenge for an outside place in Europe. How wrong I was."
West Ham made to wait again for a Premier League winpublished at 17:41 4 May

Pressure has been building on Graham Potter in recent weeks and the West Ham manager is now eight games without a win in the Premier League.
He has only collected 14 points in 15 games since replacing Julen Lopetegui as the Hammers boss in January and only the three relegated sides - Ipswich Town, Leicester City and Southampton - have collected fewer points than them since.
Potter's most recent win came against Leicester in February and they have since then drawn four and lost four games.
Their 1-1 draw with Southampton and the 3-2 defeat by Brighton have been particular frustrating with striker Niclas Fullkrug making scathing remarks on his team-mates after the Saints game two weeks ago.
The German striker, who was in turn criticised by Potter for the outburst, was back among the starters in the 1-1 stalemate with Tottenham on Sunday but cut a frustrated figure after not getting enough service.
West Ham needed their captain Jarrod Bowen to step up again with the equaliser after Wilson Odobert's early opener for Spurs and Bowen almost secured three points for the hosts with a header in the 82nd minute.
But it was not to be as Potter's wait for a win goes on.
They will next make the trip to Manchester United before wrapping up their campaign with games against Nottingham Forest and Ipswich.
