It's hard not to feel sorry for The Feeling, who are victims of the kind of hype it's impossible to live up to.

In case you don't know them, they're a five piece inspired by 70s pop-rock; 10cc, Supertramp, ELO, Queen and the like. And they know their stuff; the album is immaculately crafted and sounds...well, expensive.

Unfortunately (unlike The Darkness, who pulled off a similar trick) The Feeling sound like gifted session musos mimicking favourite moments from their parents record collections. Every song reminds you of something else, even if you can't quite place it.

This constant nagging feeling prevents you from enjoying the band's airbrushed melodies and by the time the album finishes you're glad the ordeal is over. A missed opportunity.
