Doubts about döner 5k5b28

I was living in Berlin one summer, learning German, and had a tendency to mix up the words Zwiebel, onion, and Zweifel, doubt. One day I ordered a döner kebab at a busy Imbißstand, snack bar, and not wanting onions I asked for it ohne Zweifel. Without doubt? As in 'certainly, I'd like a döner!' The man behind the counter had a laugh at my expense, but was kind enough to hold the onions!
