the BBC Symphony Orchestra at the Maida Vale Studios for a Concert to be broadcast live on BBC Radio 3’s Afternoon Concert. Young American conductor Ryan Bancroft makes his BBC Symphony Orchestra debut.

There’s reflective music which grows into waves of sound by the American composer Jennifer Higdon, and Antonin Dvorak’s sunny 6th Symphony. Romanian pianist Alexandra Dariescu will introduce us to the 3rd Piano Concerto by Ferdinand Ries - friend, pupil and secretary of Ludwig van Beethoven.
