How to make a funky bookmark
Make a funky bookmark for yourself, or to sell at your bring and buy sale.
- Coloured card
- Black pen
- Glue
- Scissors
Instructions
Take your first piece of brown card (this will be the main part of the bookmark) and cut it down to a 15cm square
Fold it in half to make a triangle
Fold the two bottom corners to the top, making a square shape, then unfold back into a triangle
Fold the top corner of the triangle (only fold one layer of paper) to meet the bottom of the triangle
Glue the two bottom corners folding them back up. Stick them into the gap made by folding the top corner in step 4. You should be left with a square shape with a pocket on the inside of one half
Turn the bookmark so the pocket is facing downwards
Decorate the top of the card with a shell pattern
Draw around your bookmark onto some light blue card, then draw a curved line from two opposite corners
Using scissors (DONT FORGET TO ASK HELP FROM A GROWN-UP) cut out the cone shape
Glue this on the inside of the bookmark
On some green card, outline Shelley's head and two legs. Then carefully cut them out (make sure you leave a little extra length on the neck and legs)
Glue the head and legs on the inside of the shell, then fold them over so they stick up from under the shell
Using the white card, draw two eyes, and six claws. Carefully cut them out and stick them onto Shelley
Using a black pen, draw the face
Now it's time to get reading, hook the bookmark over the corner of the page when you are done!
