May's CBBC Creative Lab is our 🌸 FLOWER CROWN FAIRIES 🧚 update, with challenges including:

  • 🌺 Create a flower crown

  • 🧚‍♀️ Build a fairy garden

  • 🪄 Design a ribbon wand

  • 🧺 What's in your May Day basket?

  • 🎀 Colour-in the maypole

  • 🌳 Colour-in the Green Man

  • 🦴 Operation Ouch!: Finish the skeleton

  • 🐍 Deadly 60: Design a deadly animal

  • 🚗 Danger Mouse: Customise the danger car

  • ✏️ Finish the doodle

The next update will be coming out June 2025! But in the meantime, draw and create some amazing artworks and send them to us!

What’s this month's update about?

This month's update is all about the magical month of May! We’ve included lots of fun challenges about May Day, magic and the start of summer.

May Day is a European festival which marks the beginning of summer. It’s often linked to Beltane, a Pagan festival honouring the Celtic deity, Bel.

May Day is celebrated in a lot of different ways around the UK, including dancing around a maypole and crowning a May Queen.

Some other things we have included in this update are:

  • 🌳 The Green Man - He is a traditional folk figure who represents the cycle of nature, and is often shown alongside the May Queen in artworks.

  • 🧚 Fairies - British fairies are often shown to be magical but mischievous, with Scottish folklore sometimes saying that fairies like playing harmless pranks on humans.

  • 🎗️ Maypole - This is a big pole with lots of ribbons attached to the top. Dancers will run the ribbons under and over each other to make a pattern. Traditional maypole dancing is a practice ed down to us from hundreds of years ago!

What is CBBC Creative Lab?

CBBC Creative Lab is the coolest children’s art game on the internet! It’s a regularly updated digital art tool filled with stickers, colouring in, pixel paintings and memes from all your favourite CBBC shows.
