Coventry City attacking midfielder Jack Rudoni has praised head coach Frank Lampard for "giving clarity" ahead of the Sky Blues' play-off semi-final first leg on Friday.
Rudoni's two goals against Middlesbrough on the final day of the regular season teed up a two-legged semi-final against Sunderland, with the return fixture at the Stadium of Light on Tuesday.
"I've learned a lot in the short time working with him," Rudoni told BBC Radio CWR.
"[We] work together on the pitch and he helps me with goal scoring and getting into the area with different types of finishes."
Following a move from relegated Huddersfield in June 2024, Rudoni has proved to be a breakout star for Coventry with nine goals and 12 assists from 43 Championship appearances.
Ahead of Friday's match, boyhood Chelsea fan Rudoni revealed he was not nervous at the idea of working with his "favourite player" when the 46-year-old Lampard arrived at the CBS Arena.
Rudoni says it inspired him to learn his trade from the Premier League's all-time top-scoring midfielder.
"I had a real eagerness to learn everything off him. He's done everything in the game and he's the best at it from midfield," Rudoni added.
"He was my favourite player growing up. There's no one better to work with, especially with finishing.
"It's just good it's coming out into the games now - I'm starting to reap the rewards of the hard work on the training pitch.
"He came in, brought a real structure to the team and we stopped conceding silly goals.
"He gives us clarity every game we go into so we know exactly the game plan, exactly what we're doing and we just have to carry it out.
"We practise it on the training pitch and he gives us forward players licence to go and create and win games."
