Gym Horse, Vivienne Westwood Dress, Iron Lion

Episode 30 of 30

Nigel Havers presides as five sellers aim to get the best price for their items, including a gym horse, a Vivienne Westwood dress, an iron lion, a tandem and a Glastonbury chair.

Nigel Havers welcomes five more sellers to the Bidding Room, where they try to sell items to professional dealers who are on the lookout for interesting pieces, with help from expert Simon Bower.

First to cartwheel through the doors are budding young actress Grace and her mum Leanne, with a gym horse used as a prop in a recent production of the musical Matilda. They are selling on behalf of their local stage school to raise money for their next show.

Next in is Tony, with an iconic piece of punk fashion – an original Sex Pistols top designed by Vivienne Westwood in the late 70s. Tony paid thousands for the cheesecloth-and-chain piece printed with the Sex Pistols logo, which could be from the late 70s. But without labels or paperwork as provenance, will any of the dealers be willing to take a punt?

Third to arrive is David, with a cast-iron lion he inherited from a beloved uncle. The family tale is that the item originally came from the decommissioned St Enoch Station in Glasgow, but valuation expert Simon believes the piece may be much older than that. With salvage-loving dealer Melissa in the room, could David be on to a roaring success with his piece?

Fourth in is engineer Andrew, who has had success in the room before, selling a fold-up rowing boat to Ian. He is back accompanied by his dog Bella, bringing a 1930s tandem that his sister saved from a car boot sale. Andrew has spent in excess of £1,000, lovingly restoring the item, but can he 'pedal' a deal above this price?

Last in is teacher Laura, with an antique folding wooden chair known as a ‘Glastonbury chair’. Laura found it going for free on a local website, and has used it as an office chair. Now, she is selling it to fund a trip to see her family in Australia - but will she persuade the dealers to part with a jet-set price for her piece?

The dealers today are Ian, Melissa, JB, Jo and Craig.
