Multi-award winning singer and song-writer Lisa Stansfield chooses the tracks that take her back to the dancefloors of her youth in Rewind Selector. Lisa's career began in 1980 when she won the singing competition Search for a Star. After the success of Coldcut's 'People Hold On' in 1989, she released her debut solo album 'Affection' and its worldwide chart-topping lead single 'All Around the World' made her a star. More hits followed over the years such as 'This Is The Right Time', 'All Woman', 'The Real Thing' and 'Someday (I'm Coming Back)' which she co-wrote and recorded for the super successful The Bodyguard: Original Soundtrack Album'. Alongside releasing eight studio albums, Lisa has also starred in films 'Swing' and 'Northern Soul'. On Friday 2nd May Radio 2 is recording a special concert at the Cheltenham Jazz Festival. The Soul Jazz Summit features the BBC Concert Orchestra and the Guy Barker Big Band, alongside guest performers, including Damien Lewis, Lulu, Emile Sande, Curtis Stigers, Cassie KInoshi, Lucy Anne Daniels and Lisa. You’ll be able to hear the concert on Radio 2 in the Summer.
Spoony wraps things up with a ‘Midnight Feast’ track. Think big production, lush orchestration, and the best voices in the business!
