Celebrating 15 years of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park

Comprising some of the country’s best-loved and most beautiful countryside, on 24 July 2002 the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park was officially opened by Princess Anne.

Scotland’s first national park, it is home to stunning, diverse countryside that includes lochs, mountains, islands, and forest. Unsurprisingly, it is the nation’s most popular countryside destination and very year it plays host to around four million visitors.

  • The park covers 720 square miles
  • It comprises four areas - Breadalbane, Loch Lomond, The Trossachs, and Argyll Forest Park
