Who were your favourite music artists last year?

Well, chances are you heard a lot of Dua Lipa's music as she has been named the most played artist across radio, TV and public places in the UK in 2024.

Her music was played around 400 times a day on UK radio and TV - that's the same as hearing nothing but Dua Lipa for around seven years!

Dua Lipa had a big year in 2024 with her album Radical Optimism coming out, as well as headlining the Glastonbury Festival.

But who did she knock off the top spot, and which other artists made up the top 10?

Noah Kahn had the single most popular song of the year, with Stick Season.

The stats come from a list compiled by music licensing company Phonographic Performance Limited (PPL).

They oversee the use of recorded music on radio, TV and in public places across the UK, including shops, bars, restaurants, gyms, offices and warehouses, but it doesn't include personal streaming.

The most played artist between 2021and 2023 was Ed Sheeran, but even he didn't manage to hold off the almighty power of pop superstars Dua Lipa and Taylor Swift in 2024.

However, it was American singer-songwriter Noah Kahn who had the single most popular song of the year, with Stick Season.

The catchy acoustic-guitar track spent seven weeks at number one in the UK in 2024.
