Earth Photo organises exhibitions and awards to celebrate photography and film that tell stories of our planet.
Now 203 of the judges' favourite photos and films have been selected in the 2025 awards shortlist.
The organisers, Royal Geographical Society, Forestry England and Parker Harris, say the images have been chosen as they show the beauty of our world, but also how fragile it can be.
Take a look at some of the shortlisted photos below:

'Crab-eater Seals'. This image was taken when photographer Sue Flood was working on the Antarctic Peninsula and shows three crabeater seals on an ice float. Crab-eater seals in Antarctica have been affected by a massive decline in krill populations, meaning the seal do not have enough food.

This photo by UK photographer Sean Gallagher shows Komang Juniawan standing at a waste barrier in Bali, Indonesia. Each year, the rains flush millions of tonnes of plastic pollution from Indonesia's rivers into the ocean, which end up the on country's coastlines. Komang is part of a clean-up crew called Sungai Watch trying to sort out the problem and stop the pollution.

Pandamonium: At Wolong's Hetaoping centre in Sichuan Province, panda cubs are raised with help from humans in these panda suits, to stop them getting too used to human faces. Ami Vitale is a National Geographic photographer who highlights the work of communities working in grassroots conservation.

La Palma Series: This series by photographer Jonathan Browning shows the impact of the 2021 Cumbre Vieja volcanic eruption. Around the man holding the remote car you can see the black lava that has broken through garden walls and more.

Icelandic Forest: Iceland once was 40% covered in forest. Today it only has 1.5% forest cover. Photographer Jussi Hellsten has used digital infrared photography for her photo - a tool that is used often to assess forest health.

The last people of the Accursed mountains: Chiara Fabbro's project is all about a generation of shepherds living in the remote highlands of the Accursed mountains in Albania. Here, in the warmer months, shepherds spend their time tending to livestock, making cheese and foraging herbs - preserving a centuries-old way of life.
