What is homophobia?

It is International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia on 17 May.

It's a day where the LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer and others) community highlights the discrimination that they face.

It's also a chance to celebrate inclusion, diversity and gay rights.

Watch Newsround's guide to what homophobia is.
