The birth of a Rothschild's giraffe was captured on CCTV at Chester Zoo

The birth of a rare giraffe has been caught on CCTV at Chester Zoo.

The attraction said the "joyous" moment of the 6ft (1.8m) tall newcomer falling on to a bed of straw was captured on camera on Tuesday.

It followed mother Orla's labour of more than three hours.
