A second death of a walker has been reported by rescuers in the Lake District.

The lone man was found unresponsive by other hikers near Sty Head, a mountain near Great Gable, at about 16:18 BST last Sunday, Wasdale Mountain Rescue Team (WMRT) has revealed.

A helicopter from Blackpool was deployed along with Mountain Rescue volunteers, but the man was declared dead at the scene.

On Thursday a man died after collapsing while walking in a group at the side of Lodore Falls in Gowder Crag.

WMRT said Sunday had been a "sad callout" and "our sincere thoughts and condolences go to the walker's family and friends and all those on the hill that were involved".
