Comedian Jon Richardson is to the cast of school drama Waterloo Road.

Richardson is known for TV shows like 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown and Meet the Richardsons, and for his Saturday morning show on Absolute Radio.

He will enter the long-running BBC show's staff room for its 16th series, but his role has not been revealed.

The announcement comes after Richardson posted a video on Instagram claiming he had got a new job after training as a teacher.
