Police investigating a burglary in Kirkby Lonsdale arrested three 10-year-olds

Three 10-year-old boys have been arrested on suspicion of burglary.

It followed reports of damage at a caravan park and a burglary at a property on Lunefield Drive in Kirkby Lonsdale, Cumbria, on Friday.

One of the boys has also been questioned on suspicion of criminal damage and a racially aggravated public order offence.

Cumbria Police said all three were later released on conditional bail.

Also on Friday, a video emerged on social media showing a handcuffed boy seemingly of primary school age.

Cumbria Police said this followed a report from a member of the public who said they had been threatened with a penknife near the River Lune.

No knife was found and the handcuffs were later removed.
