A weekend-long event which will allow sports clubs from across Jersey to demonstrate their activities has been arranged.

Jersey Sports Council said the Sport Showcase Event would take place on 14 and 15 June.

It said the first day at Les Quennevais Sports Centre and playing fields would focus on land-based sports such as football, fencing, judo, netball and volleyball.

The council added the second day at the Royal Channel Island Yacht Club in St Aubin would focus on water-based sports which included sailing, canoeing, rowing and swimming.

Organisers said the event on Saturday would start at 11:00 BST and run until 16:00 while the second day's timings would be dependent on the tides.
