Attempted murder arrests after man hit by car

Two teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a pedestrian was knocked down by a car that did not stop.

The 38-year-old man suffered potentially life-changing injuries in Montefiore Drive, Sarisbury Green, at about 03:00 BST on Thursday, Hampshire police previously said.

The 18-year-old men, from Fareham and Hamble, are being held on suspicion of attempted murder, causing injury through dangerous driving, vehicle interference, and failing to stop following a collision.

Detectives said a dark-coloured car, believed to be an Audi, was involved in the crash.

Police are also carrying out house-to-house inquiries and are seeking doorbell or dashcam footage.

The victim remains in a stable condition in hospital, police said.
