Ilmari Niskanen has been charged with drink driving near Honiton

An Exeter City footballer has been charged with drink driving, police have said.

Devon and Cornwall Police said Ilmari Niskanen had been charged with the offence on the A30 near Honiton on 6 February.

He has been bailed to appear before Exeter Magistrates' Court on 24 February.

Exeter City Football Club confirmed the charge against the Finnish midfielder and said it was treating the matter "with the utmost gravity".
