The electronic flag system used around the Isle of Man TT course is set to be tested ahead of the 2025 event.

Drivers have been asked to ignore the LED boards situated around the 37.7-mile (61km) Mountain Course during the test between 06:30 and 07:30 BST on Friday.

The system is used to relay message to all riders around the course at the same time, including a race stoppage.

Clerk of the course Gary Thompson, of ACU Events, said while the roadside square display boards were "clearly not traffic signals", organisers wanted to make sure public knew no action was needed during the test.

"We've selected an early morning window to minimise any disruption, and as always, we appreciate the patience and understanding of residents and road s as we make our final safety preparations for this year's TT," he added.

First introduced in 2022 at flag points around the course, the electronic screens enable course-wide communication with riders, marshals and officials and improves the visibility of warnings.

Qualifying for the 2025 Isle of Man TT races begins on Monday, with racing scheduled to take place between 31 May and 7 June.
