Man charged over attempted murder in Dumfries

A man has been charged with attempted murder after an alleged hit-and-run incident in Dumfries.

A 28-year-old man was found seriously injured on the town's Criffel Road on Saturday following reports he had been struck by a car.

Police said a 29-year-old man had been arrested and charged and was expected to appear at Dumfries Sheriff Court.

Officers said a report would be sent to the procurator fiscal and inquiries were continuing.
