About This Event
The BBC Singers are led by Guest Conductor Peter Phillips at St Paul's Knightsbridge for a free concert of luminous choral music through the ages.
Our journey starts in late Renaissance Italy, with Palestrina's sublime Missa Confitebor tibi domine. We stop by sixteenth-century Spain for Guerrero's Ave virgo sanctissima, before heading to modern day UK and Ukraine with works including John Rutter's Hymn to the Creator of Light and Galina Grigorjeva's In Paradisum. The concert ends where it began, with another one of Palestrina's great polyphonic masterpieces, Laudete pueri domino.
There will be a 20 minute interval.
Recorded for future broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and BBC Sounds.
