Live from Watford Colosseum, the BBC Concert Orchestra conducted by Jaime Martin, perform a unique selection of music for BBC Radio 3’s Afternoon Concert.
The afternoon opens with Dvořák’s tone poem The Noon Witch, which surrounds itself in Slavik mythology and intertwines in a six month long focus on symphonic poems. Pianists Lucas and Arthur Jussen perform a duet for solo piano in Fazil Say’s Night before giving the UK Premiere of Together to Dance, a concerto for two pianos, written by the BBC Concert Orchestra’s Composer in Residence Dobrinka Tabakova.
The second half of the concert allows the orchestra to shine in Bartók’s sparkling Concerto for Orchestra.
