Can music be any more epic in its scope than this? Messiaen’s score is rooted in the rust-red rocks and the calling birds of Utah’s Bryce Canyon, but takes aim beyond those bright blue skies to the stars and unknown galaxies beyond.

So responding to Messiaen’s Interstellar Call, in a live edition of “The Listening Service”, Tom Service seeks fellow musical occupants of interplanetary craft for an odyssey through the rocket-fuelled dreams of space and time, to infinity and beyond…
