Today’s programme opens with Maxwell Davies' The Fall of the Leafe, then followed by Ginastera’s Piano Concerto No. 2, a piece that pays homage to two musical masters: Beethoven and Chopin. Ginastera opens with a homage to Beethoven and ends it with ages inspired by Chopin.
