Jac van Steen as he conducts the BBC Philharmonic for an afternoon of live music from Beethoven and Elgar.

The concert begins with BBC New Generation Artist, Pavel Kolesnikov, who performs Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 1.

The concert closes with Elgar’s Falstaff inspired by the “fat knight” of William Shakespeare’s Henry IV.
This concert is a live broadcast for BBC Radio 3.
