Roscoe Mitchell has been at the vanguard of jazz and improvisation for half a century. His new work for Tectonics Glasgow closes this year’s festival, so it’s only fitting he opens it too, with a solo set in the Old Fruitmarket. Composer and musician John Chantler is ed by artist, filmmaker and musician (and
former Turner Prize-nominee) Luke Fowler for a set using invented instruments made from resonating strings and the serge modular synthesizer.
