Innovative and pioneering performer Matthew Barley gives the world premiere of Misha Mullov-Abbado’s Cello Concerto. Also appearing alongside the BBC Concert Orchestra and conductor Michael Seal are Southbank Centre resident groups Nu Civilisation Orchestra and StringTing, and together in this concert we break new ground in orchestral jazz performance. The programme also includes new and pre-existing arrangements of music by legendary jazz performer and composer Duke Ellington.
