Concert Information

There has always been a debate about whether George Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess is an opera or a musical. But who cares?

For this production, Gershwin’s epic tale is set in South Carolina in the 1930s and features a stellar line-up with Musa Ngqungwana as Porgy, Laquita Mitchell as Bess and Donovan Singletary as Crown.

Stephen Barlow conducts the BBC Concert Orchestra as part of Grange Park Opera's second season at West Horsley Place, Surrey.
