Concert Information
World Premiere of composer Simon Holt's Joy Beast
Simon Holt is one of the UK’s leading composers and is currently Professor of Composition at the Royal College of Music. Joy Beast is a basset clarinet concerto for 2006’s BBC Young Musician of the Year Mark Simpson, inspired from a black and white print by the English artist, Cecil Collins, of a rampant bull-like creature with fearsome horns.
This 15-minute piece will be performed twice, with a short Q&A session with the composer between the performances.
