Newham teenagers rise to the challenge

Project Hackney is a group of teenagers from the Tunmarsh Centre in the Olympic borough, Newham.

After meeting ex-pupil and Hackney Weekend star Plan B they ed forces with two other local stars performing this weekend, Leona Lewis and Labrinth. Their challenge was, with no prior musical experience, to become good enough to perform an entire set of their own songs at the Radio 1 Academy in Hackney.
