Clemens Schuldt conducts today’s concert, a captivating programme that includes Schumann, Mahler and Tchaikovsky, with baritone and BBC New Generation Artist Benjamin Appl.
The concert begins with Schumann’s only opera –Genoveva: Overture. The orchestra then performs two masterpieces, both inspired by the unsuccessful love stories of their composers: Mahler’s autobiographical Songs of a Wayfarer and Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5.
