Friday Night Is Music Night and the BBC Philharmonic bring you the world premiere of ‘Scary Fairy’, in an evening full of fairy tales and magic for Halloween.
Louise Minchin presents a programme of some of the most enchanting pieces in classical music, including Tchaikovsky’s Sleeping Beauty Waltz, The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, and John Williams’s Harry Potter film score.
The concert will also include the world premiere of ‘Scary Fairy’, a poem written by Craig Charles with a new orchestral score composed by Iain Farrington. The poem features names and fables that will be familiar from the fairy tales of your childhood – but told through the eyes of a character you didn’t even realise was there – Scary Fairy!’
