The second of two special MediaCity concerts marking the arrival of the BBC Philharmonic’s new Chief Conductor, Omer Meir Wellber.

Omer opens this afternoon with Summer from one of Vivaldi’s best known and loved works – The Four Seasons.

Schumann’s mould-breaking Fourth Symphony, with its opening journey from darkness to blazing light, is paired with Schoenberg’s revolutionary Five Orchestral Pieces and we also hear Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 12 - rich with lyricism and melodic texture.

If you can’t Omer and the orchestra for this special welcome, the concert will be livestreamed and available to watch, both online and on the big screen at the MediaCity Piazza.
