- Two pencils
- String
- PVA glue or glue stick
- Scissors (grown-up use only)
- Coloured tissue paper
- Decorations e.g. glitter, stickers, pom poms
How to make the party hat

The very first thing you need to do is mark the centre of your card with a pencil.
Next, take two pencils and attach them together with a piece of string.
Hold one pencil firmly in the 4 centre and stretch out the string so that the other pencil is in the corner of your card.
Now, really carefully and slowly stretch out and draw your semi-circle all the way round to the other corner of your card.

Cut out your semi-circle and glue half way along the straight side. Start at the edge and glue along until you reach the middle.
Fold over your semi-circle into a cone shape. You can use a paper clip to hold it in place while the glue dries if you like.
Next, take two pieces of coloured tissue paper and lay one narrow piece on top of a slightly wider piece. Then pinch and scrunch the paper from one end to the other.

When you've got to the end, fold the tissue paper over and tuck under so you have a fan shape.
Add some glue to the back of your tissue paper at the bottom, the top and the two corners. It is now ready to stick onto your hat.
Finally, add some extra decoration to your hat. We've used glitter here, but you can decorate your hat however you want, you can try pom poms, stickers or anything you like to make it look great for your party
