Make the Blue Peter Christmas card

Here's one we made earlier, with Richie last year! Give your friends and family a chuckle with this charming and cheeky springy bum holiday card.

You will need
  • A4 card
  • Glue stick or sticky tape
  • Colouring pens or pencils

Step by step guide to creating the Blue Peter Christmas card

Step one

Fold A4 card into quarters. Unfold the paper, so you have one fold at the top.

Step two

Draw the front of your Christmas character on the front of the card, and it's back on the back - we chose to draw Henry. TOP TIP: Make sure the top of your drawing is at the top of the card where the fold will be.

Step three

Cut out your front and back character drawings, making sure to leave enough of a fold at the top of the card. This will make sure the cards can stand up, nice and sturdy. TOP TIP: Make sure the bottom of the card is cut evenly so that when the card is finished it can stand up.

Step four

Decorate and colour in your card. You can add any extra Christmassy decorations here, we added a cute Santa hat.

Step five - make the spring

Cut two strips of card the same length and thickness. Glue the ends together making a L shape. Fold one of the strips of card over the other, until there is no card left to create a spring. Glue the end to finish your spring.

Step six

Stick one end of the spring to the front of your card and stick the other end of the spring to the bum of the card. Make sure they are lined up evenly. You did it! You have your very own springy bum card.
